When I was younger living in Nebaj, Quiche in Guatemala, whenever I was feeling down and needed help there was no help.
In my community whenever someone had a problem nobody spoke about it or dealt with it.
Not only did we not want to impose our problems on others but also doctors and specialist were located 2 hours from our community.
Now that I am in the US there is a lot of resources for dealing with mental health and I feel more comfortable speaking to someone about my feelings.
