Manuel's story My name is Manuel Guillermo Luben Lozano. I am 26 years old and I am from Honduras, Central America. I have arrived here, in Romania, on the 10th of September 2008. I have arrived to Bucharest. I came here without having a visa, I had some problems with the police. After that, I went to Recas, on the 1st of November. There were two weeks since I have arrived with my friends (we were 13) in Recas, and we didn't talk with our families. Having no money at all, we couldn't call home, our parents knew nothing about us. Then, I decided to go and search for a place from which I could communicate with my family. I asked where I could find a source of Internet or anything else. Then I got to PAPI (Public Access Point to Information). After I got here at PAPI with my friends I met Daniel. With his help and Silvia's we managed to learn the Romanian language, which is very difficult but it resembles to Spanish. It doesn't matter where you are in this world, it is always very important to have a way of communication with your family. It helped us a lot, because if we hadn't found PAPI from Recas, I think we wouldn't have had another way of communication with our families. The refugees group from Honduras has found a new family at the Public Access Point to Information from Recas. Manuel's friends returned to Honduras after a few months. Manuel remained in Romania, has solved his juridical situation and now he collaborates with an association that helps the refugees. He comes back to Recas anytime he can and he feels here like home... This movie was made during GET ONLINE DAY organized by Telecentre Europe with partners from 15 countries. Made by: Silvia Harhata and Teodora Borghoff March 2010 The end
