How to make meatloaf

[howdini, get yourself a guru] Meatloaf is the ultimate comfort food. [Meatloaf Basics] By following a few basic tips from the Kraft Kitchens, it's easy to make one that's super moist and flavorful. [Joanne Hoff for the Kraft Kitchens] Start with two pounds of ground meat. I'm using ground beef, but you can substitute ground pork, chicken, or turkey for this recipe. Next, I'm going to add a package of Stove Top Stuffing Mix, one cup of water, a quarter cup of Kraft Original Barbecue Sauce, and two lightly beaten eggs. The stuffing is the key to enhancing the flavor and moisture in the meat. It also adds texture, so your loaf keeps its shape. A lot of meatloaf recipes use ketchup, but I actually prefer barbecue sauce for its robust and tangy flavor. Stir everything together just until combined. Over mixing can create a tough meatloaf. For no mess mixing, I like to put everything into a large plastic bag and massage it in the bag to combine the ingredients and form the loaf. I've got a 13x9-inch baking dish that I've lined with foil for easy clean up. Now I'm going to form my loaf right in the dish. You can also divide you meat into loaf pans or even muffin tins for individual meatloaves. And unbaked meatloaf freezes extremely well. Now for the final step. Top with remaining one quarter cup of barbecue sauce. This is what makes it really tasty. Just bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for about an hour or until the center of the meatloaf reads 160 degrees with a food thermometer. Meatloaf is always a family favorite and perfect for sandwiches the next day. []
