... of the self
can't be anything
but another product
of brain activity.
If every self
a delusion,
then why should we
believe a scientist
when he tries
to debunk the self
because he
is a self, yeah.
Wouldn't we be taking
the world of an illusion?
Yes. The whole argument
is hopelessly illogical.
I really like that this
conversation is taking place
because for me,
that is the new dogma
that it says,
in a sense,
the way that
orthodox religion
strayed beyond its territory of providing comfort to people, and the kind of motifs and methods for surviving knowing that we are finite. Now the world of science has strayed into this kind of colonization of reality. Dominating, truncating, putting out fires and inquiry, stamping on the space between people where the connections need to occur. So yeah, I've read some of the book but I will read the rest of it. What I am realizing right now, by the way, is you don't need to! [Laughter] Well, I'm going to anyway, just for the vocabulary. Okay. Thank you, Russell.
