Hello Hoxbies!
Hello Hoxbies! Welcome to Workstyle Freestyle
with me, Alex Hirst.
And with me, Lizzie Penny.
Ahh... What are you doing there, Lizzie?
It looks like you are airing your dirty laundry.
Ha, sure, that's exactly what I'm doing.
I am just doing a bit of multi-tasking, Alex,
you know I'm a fan.
Just working around getting the washing done?
- Exactly.
Because that is how you roll.
That reminds me of one of our values, which we should
probably talk about.
- Yea, let's talk about that!
Ah, the scrolling values board will tell us...
- Oh, here it is.
Respect the workstyle.
Respect the workstyle.
It's what Hoxby is all about, and what we were built on.
Everyone has a workstyle,
it's very much up to us as individuals to
set our own workstyle, but also make everyone else
aware of what it is.
If we don't tell people, how can people know?
But in doing so, we hope that therefore,
everyone is able to respect it, you know.
If we tell people what our workstyle is, then people can respect it and
it's one of the most important, fundamental values
at Hoxby - that we respect each others workstyle.
The other thing is - if we deliver brilliant work
then people won't care how we deliver it.
So, you might not care that I'm hanging out the washing,
while I'm talking to you,
if I'm doing a brilliant job.
So, that's what we believe in at Hoxby.
That you should be judged on your output, not where and when you work,
and therefore people shouldn't judge you on when and where you work.
Hence, 'respect the workstyle'.
Indeed. All important at this time of year when
people are going back to school as well.
I'd be really interested to know what your workstyles are
now that, ah, the children in your lives
might be being looked after during the day.
But let us know!
share your workstyle in the comments, and we look forward to hearing all about them.
See you soon!
Bye!
