Divine Inspiration Class #6 : The secret for effective prayers

You know, you could pray for an individual that he get's better but according to Rabbi Shimon the fact that you may say Tehilim (psalms) and that's all you do, you open up, let's say, Tehilim the book of Psalms, which is used for praying you say I'm praying for this individual most times, or more times than none, and from all of our own personal experiences, not always has the individual been helped why not? Because, says the Zohar, we don't know how to pray. But what do you mean you don't know how to pray? Does it mean you don't know how to pronounce the words correctly? Does it mean you don't know how to read? 'No', says the Zohar. The fact that you know how to read, or the fact that you may know the translation of the words is not called prayer it is what you are connecting with and using the words as channels for drawing energy to, let's say, an ill person that you want to assist you want to support him you can only support him, not with the words, but only with energy that;s what's lacking in an ill person and here is the secret why could Moshe do something like that? (Hebrew) "She hu behinat hashemesh" He was in that level of consciousness known as the Sun (Hebrew) "She hu Zeir Anpin" what does that mean? The Sun has one characteristic if we were to define Sun then the Sun has this one particular characteristic of sharing. And so we learn, that when Moses prayed he just didn't open up a Tehilim, which didn't exist in it's written form just yet but he didn't really say a prayer, so to speak, "say a prayer for me", is a common expression when someone is ill, or in need of some support and assistance but that Moshe was in the position of Sun he was in a position of what? Of sharing! Moses was, as we said, "Ish anav meod" (Hebrew) he was a humble person, which we say the Zohar explains not as a man of humility, but he was a man that exemplified and demonstrated the force of the lord and the force of the lord means what? Sharing! When Moshe, or anybody else, is in that frame of reference wanting to share, now, who doesn't pray, meaning he wants to pray for the well-being of the individual isn't he sharing? So why does Rabbi Shimon says people who go to a synagogue, say a prayer at the Kotel or whatever, or whichever why aren't these people helped? And the answer is: Because when he prays, he says "HaShem help!" But what has he done? He has left out the channel meaning himself, but because of an old concept we ask the creator 'Look, don't interfere too much, permit us free will, stay in the sidelines, stay in the wings, give us a chance!' Give US a chance, meaning all of us so the creator, by an within himself, cannot heal directly, he must use channels so when Moshe was praying, he was connecting with that force, since he represented and symbolized the aspect of sharing he could connect with this, but he was connecting with the forces saying it to the force, discussing it with the force, "I would like to share", "permit me", that's what the prayer is all about, "permit me to be your channel" because light cannot come direct, if it came direct it would burn out the individual totally so, how does that reach the individual? By the prayer, if it's an ill person. However, the person who is authoring that prayer has to have the consciousness of what is he doing he's saying a prayer for someone but if he doesn't know the elemental factor involved that he is a channel for energy and he hasn't requested that energy to pass through him and he would connect with the individual via the prayer nothing happened. It's like dialing on your telephone, connecting - but not talking. You connected, everything is go, except one thing - you're not talking, you're not saying anything. That's how simple it was So Moshe was the Sun. What does it mean he was the Sun? He was a total channel for the force That's what it means he was "ish anav" when he spoke, says the Zohar, Moses didn't speak - the force spoke not Moses, there was not "I" so if anyone is praying for someone who needs assistance or to the extent that the 'I' of the individual is ever present, something that we all need to work on, but if that individual is still thinking about the 'I', but why not say a prayer for my mother or my father or my brothers but he himself is in a frame of reference of 'I' forget it!
