How to make a video for a social media site like YouTube

[♫ howdini: get yourself a guru ♫] Hey, I'm Joe. I've got this awesome little camera here. And I'm going to show you how to make and share a video for social media sites like YouTube. The great thing about YouTube is you can post anything you want. Pet videos, blog videos, videos about your travels--anything. But if you want your video to go viral, make sure it's something that appeals to everybody. Always think about the final product, and make sure to give your video a story. If you're editing your final video to song, think about the kind of shots you need to get. Like this. [♫ upbeat guitar music ♫] [♫ upbeat guitar music ♫] Also think about adding voiceovers, like this. Voiceovers are great whenever you want to point something out in your video, like this random guy looking at the camera. You may also consider adding graphics or video transitions, but use them sparingly. Too many can get distracting. If you're blogging outside, make sure that your lighting looks okay. Cloudy days and the shade looks a lot better than direct sunlight. You see? Low-quality video is a big turn-off, so shooting in HD is always better. To make, to make, to make, to make, to make, to make the best video, do a couple takes, t-t-takes, takes, t-takes. Your videos are going to be compressed into mp4 format, which makes them easy to upload to your computer. And look! It charges my camera, too--like magic. Or unicorns. Type in your YouTube user name, your password, and then just hit "Upload." You should also add tags to help people find your video. Thanks for watching.
