Our hands do so much for us,
they are capable of a variety of functions
However, hands are the most exposed part of the body to germs.
Washing your hands is the best way to stop germs from spreading
Today, a Miami Lakes Educational Center student will demonstrate the proper way to wash your hands
Step 1
Wet your hands with warm water
and cover all surfaces with soap.
Make sure you lather
your whole hand with the soap.
Step 2
Right palm over left dorsum with interlaced fingers and vice versa
Also, rotational rubbing of left thumb clasped in right palm and vice versa
Step 3
Individually scrub each fingertip
Step 4
Rotational rubbing backwards and forward
with clasped fingers
of right hand in left palm and vice versa
Step 5
Rub and wash around your wrist
Step 6
Rinse each hand separately
Do not allow your hands to touch any part of the sink
Step 7
Dry hands thoroughly with single use towel
You use
one towel from the tips downward
and then use a separate towel for your wrist.
Last step
Use a separate towel to turn off the faucet.
Our hands touch many surfaces
throughout the course of our everyday lives.
This makes them the perfect vehicle to transport germs to our nose,
mouths, and eyes,
which can then get into our bodies.
We all like to think that we are washing our hands well but
that may not be the case.
Effective hand washing is key in the battle against the spread of bacteria and viruses.
Thank you
and wash your hands
