When you come back to KC,
aside from going home,
what is the stop you have to make?
Well, typically some kind
of Mexican food
because I even though
I live in Los Angeles,
there's still something about
Kansas City Mexican food
that I can't get out of my brain.
Even though you live in L.A.?
Yeah. I love going to Margarita's
and having some tacos
or something like that.
I love coming to the K.
I love going to Arrowhead, obviously.
Those are stops on my list for sure.
Let's talk about your
time as a kid.
What is the financial lesson
that you learned as a kid
and took with you in adulthood?
Don't buy things that you can't
afford. That's a valuable
lesson, I think. My dad
always taught me that and
there were time he used
to use the expression
"tuck in your ears,"
meaning that when you're trying
to save for something,
rather than overextend
yourself, take something
out of your life.
Then put that money in
an envelope every day.
Whether it's a cup
of coffee or whatever.
If you're spending $4 on
a cup of coffee every day,
stop drinking that cup
of coffee for 60 days.
Then you've got $240.
