Yale University postdoctoral researcher Erin Saupe will present a talk entitled, "Exploring the Evolutionary Impact of Macroecological Traits using Simulation Studies." The study offers some very novel perspectives on evolution and biological diversification on complex landscapes. Dr. Saupe's research crosses among paleontology and neontology, as well as across many taxonomic groups.

Erin E. Saupe obtained her PhD at the University of Kansas, and is presently an Institute for Biospheric Studies Postdoctoral Fellow at Yale University. She is interested in how biogeographic processes impact macroevolution. More specifically, her research explores how species respond to environmental changes on both long and short time scales, focusing on the role that species’ abiotic environmental preferences play in structuring patterns of speciation, extinction and distribution through time.
