Most six year olds are just getting to grips with reading and writing.
Not Lori Anne Madison though, she's a spelling super star.
So much so she's become the youngest person ever
to compete in the preliminary round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee in America.
and she got off to a great start.
DIRIGIBLE. D-I-R-I-G-I-B-L-E. DIRIGIBLE.
Lori Anne, who's called a junior, was competing against much older kids.

And in the end it proved a little too tough.
