Yoga for me, is a way of being. It's a whole life style.
It's taking the lessons that are learnt on and off the matt
and being able to incorporate them into a more useful life
and bring a greater awareness into our day. Iv'e moved into becoming a Yoga instructor
after discovering the benefits for myself and wanting to share
that with a vast number of people.
I primarily teach Vinyasa Yoga which is a flowing form of Hatha Yoga,
incorporating postures and breath work. I also teach pregnancy yoga, partner yoga
and kids yoga.
The kids love coming to a class because they get to be themselves,
they get to be playful, they get to be joyful and they get to discover
that it's ok to be still and it's really precious to be quiet but at the
same time they can be really noisy and full of the life that they essentially are.
I love having a person who is fresh to yoga
coming in to class. For me, it's me sharing my passion with someone
who has obviously chosen to explore that. And quite often it's
really nice to check in with that, why is it that they have decided to come to
yoga and perhaps how I can best nurture and honor that throughout
their first experience.
