This lesson called the super 8 drill is really beneficial for your game helps you tie your racket into your body. Start by bouncing the
ball up, you can give it a little spin and try and bounce it straight up in the air. Then do it on the backhand side. Then what you want to do
continuously and seamlessly is transfer your racket into a figure 8 form, that infinity form, from forehand to backhand.
It looks easier than it actually is. The first key is you want to make sure the ball bounces straight up into the air.
See that the ball goes straight off Paul's racket directly in the middle of his body. The next key to do doing this drill well is you don't try to
do this with your arm. You shift from foot to foot and you weight and un-weight each foot shifting your hips from side to side.
Then finally, with your racket and your arm you want to round the corner. See how Paul rounds the corner and then bumps it up again.
What you are doing here is learning to negotiate this time and space while the ball is up in the air. You want to fill up that space and time
the figure 8 movement is the perfect way to do that. So remember its really done from the body and you want to keep a continental grip
thats key in order to not have to change your grip and bounce the ball straight up. If you can start doing this drill you will definitely feel
more and more connected to your racket. It will definitely make an effect in how you play especially the volleys.
