Hello people.
I want to talk to you about
COVID-19 vaccine.
The one develop by
the University of Oxford...
... together with Astra Zeneca,
which is a company.
Recently they published the results...
...for the overall
efficiency of the vaccine.
The number was seventy per cent.
Now, compared to the other two.
With numbers in the reach of ninety
and ninety-five per cent.
This looked bad.
However, it turned out
they made a mistake...
...with about tree thousand
people volunteers.
Because they gave to this people
a lower dose regime...
...of the vaccine.
Basically they gave
the same amount of liquid...
...but there was less amount
of vaccine in the liquid.
It was deluded.
This was a mistake,
but it turns out...
...that when you do that
in the first dose.
And then you give
the full amount on the second.
It looks like,
the overall efficacy...
...rises from seventy
to around ninety per cent.
Now taking into account...
...that this vaccine
is cheaper than the other two.
It's in the region of two and tree
euros rather than twenty...
...or whatever.
And, that it can be stored
in fridges.
At fridge temperature.
Around eight degrees positive.
Rather than minus twenty or eighty degrees.
Of course that all these two
characterĂstics make this vaccine...
...much better.
So the only problem would be
the lower efficacy.
But, if it turns out
that the overall efficacy...
...is actually in the region
of ninety per cent.
Then that's really good.
So it looks they're going to
make new trails now.
But then of course
some people are saying...
...that if they're making new ones...
...is because they didn't do it
all right the first time and so on.
So it's tricky.
