Here we go!
I’m Mason Massey and I drive race cars.
I have over 300 wins.
You know, I used to count them when I was younger,
but I kind of started to lose count.
My goal has always been NASCAR.
Always has been, always will be.
That’s really what I’ve worked for all my life.
I don’t care about the fame or the money.
Really, I’m just a racer.
That’s why God put me here, to be a race car driver.
NASCAR needs millions of dollars to get into.
I was not born into millions of dollars.
For people like me who don’t have that kind of money,
we do the best we can with what we have.
And so, until a big-time sponsor comes along,
that’s what we have and I’m just trying to do
the best with what I can.
I can win every race I run in and still never make it
to NASCAR without the money.
Racing is really cruel
and life can be really cruel, too.
I’ve stuttered all my life
and I definitely have some people
that’d make fun of me when I was younger,
mock me.
Being mocked over and over will make you question
why am I even here? What is my purpose?
And I can’t even talk, so why put me here?
When I was younger, I always had a hard time
saying my name.
I was really in a dark place.
Made me work harder to where everyone knew my name
so, I wouldn’t have to say it.
The thing is I know that God
gave it to me for a reason,
and that reason is to race.
We all have our challenge in life. We all do.
And you have to make it a positive thing
to have a good influence on people and show them
that it’s possible to overcome your challenges
and to make it to where you want to be.
When I make it to NASCAR,
I believe that’s the reason I did.
I don’t know what the future holds,
but I really would like to think that my future
holds a lot of pages in it.
And I’m going to work hard
and just make sure I write those pages.
