Welcome to Rome, the eternal city! This city is full of culture and history... and of course Italian! If you've decided to learn Italian, it doesn't have to be so hard Instead of getting bogged down with grammar and getting frustrated you should be focussing on the positive! Even if you've never studied Italian before, you can already speak some! Italian uses some words from English and other languages that you'll easily recognize but even better is that you will find so many originally Italian words that are similar to in your language! You'd recognize more than you think! Some words are general, but of course the most famous ones are those related to fantastic Italian food There are much more though, such as words related to music. If you want to speak Italian, don't treat it like a hard subject but like an alive and active language, remembering that people use it every day And if you make a mistake, don't worry about it! Even if you're quite busy, if you always have a little book in your pocket to study you can learn a lot of the language while you are waiting somwhere. There are a lot of interesting websites that help you to speak Italian and a lot of websites and videos entirely in Italian. You can learn a lot on the net! I've put some videos in this video's description Try to practise every day. Why not create an account on twitter to update your status like you might do on facebook, but in Italian? You could write... "I saw the Colosseum"! The most important thing to remember... is to have fun! Italian is a musical and expressive language and you can really enjoy yourself while you learn and speak it! I hope you liked this video! This is a short video (less than 3 minutes long) I made about how to start learning Italian while I was passing through Rome again this year. There's only so much you can say in 3 minutes, so it's mostly a light-hearted video that obviously can't be so detailed and is not to be taken seriously! Most of all, it was a good excuse for me to dress and act silly around Rome!
