Welcome to the Support and Applications version of the Certificate III in Information, Digital Media & Technology.
You’ve chosen an exciting industry to enter with information technology
playing a big part in everyone’s work and personal lives.
The particular sector of IT that you’ll be studying combines hardware, operating systems and software.
During this course you’ll learn how to set up and
maintain computers including operating systems
and hardware installation, fault finding and how to
provide IT support and advice to others.
The applications electives will allow you to develop advanced skills in using Microsoft Office
including creating macros and templates.
Other areas that you’ll cover in this course
reflect the base level skills and knowledge
that all IT workers require.
This will include work health safety,
workplace and client communication skills
and following company policies and procedures.
Your facilitators will guide you through this journey
and the activities and projects will focus on real world situations using a fictional company.
This will help you understand what it’s like
to work in an entry level IT position.
I encourage you to participate in the discussions to form connections with your fellow students and your facilitators.
You’re now ready to go through the
Get Started section under Modules
and to get to know the other learners
through the People link.
I hope you enjoy this step into the IT world
and wish you good luck with your study.
