My name is Naida Quispe, I am an organic farmer in the Lucre district—
—and I want to show you, this here is the village of Lucre.
Our way of working in some of our plots of land is done in an associative manner.
Potatoes, Corn and beans in order to ensure soil fertility; it is not a monoculture which repeats, year upon year, the same thing.
This is one of the plots we have, which is the first thing that I want to show to you.
The permanent work that I have been doing on the different plots I have—
—is the re-incorporation of existing weeds that are growing here—
—be it directly or in composted form, together with bioles—
—and , in addition, effective micro-organisms.
All this with the objective of preserving the micro-organisms that are present in the soil—
—and that are responsible for maintaining a fertile, rich and living soil.
As a result of this soil, we have strong plants—
—and an elevated nutritional quality of the produce that I harvest from my different plots of land.
I consider it to be important that the local authorities—
—take into account as part of their management policies—
—the inclusion of the agroecological option as a sustainable alternative to face climate change.
