♪ music playing ♪ [7x7 Experience] [The Home Screen] >>Knowing how the Uber driving app works is vital to our ability to deliver a great experience for our riders. So let's go through the driver app and some of the options available to us. When you first sign into the Uber driver app, you'll see what's called your home screen, which will show you a map of your current location. If your area offers boost pricing or quest goals, you'll see the icons on the screen as well. Surge pricing will be indicated by color grading on the map. The darker the red, the higher the surge. Clicking the home button will always bring you back to this home screen, regardless of whether you are online or offline. If you're on a trip, this option will not be available. On the top of the home screen, there's the option to go online. If you're in your car and ready to accept a trip request, go online and get that cash. In the top corner of the Uber driver app, there's a menu button. When you're offline or between riders, you can use this to set a destination. For example, if you live in a suburb and are trying to get downtown, you can set downtown as your destination. Then you'll only get trips that will go in that direction. If you are online and have accepted a rider request, the menu button will show you information about that rider and give you an option to contact them. Ther's also an option to stop new trip requests while you're on this trip. Which is especially useful if you need to go offline and take a break.
