Hello I’m Bill Stenger, President of Jay Peak Resort, located in the beautiful state of Vermont. Jay Peak has been a successful ski resort since 1955, welcoming skiers from all over Eastern North America. As a matter of fact Jay Peak is less than 7 hours drive from 100 million US and Canadian Citizens. Jay Peak Ski and Summer resort is in an area of Vermont known as the North East Kingdom. It the most beautiful and authentic part of this scenic state, located just 3 miles from the Canadian border. Jay peak is a 7 hour drive from Toronto Canada, and the New York City metropolitan area, 3 ½ hrs from Boston Massachusetts and Ottowa, Canadas capital, and 90 minutes from Montreal, one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Until recently the 4000 acre Jay Peak resort has been a largely winter sports facility, offering some of the finest alpine skiing in North America. As a matter of fact Skiing Magazine recently rated Jay Peak the number one ski area in Eastern North America. But 2 years ago Jay Peak began is 4 season transformation by adding a new championship golf course, now being hailed as one of the North Easts most beautiful and scenic courses. The course designed by Graham Cooke, one of the industry’s best known architects has begun to transform Jay Peak in to a more than a winter only resort. As a matter of fact the transition of Jay Peak to a year round resort is at the heart of what at the EB 5 projects at Jay Peak are all about. Let me tell you a little bit about the Vermont Regional Center. In 1997 the then Vermont governor Howard Dean and secretary of commerce Bill Shuldi and myself worked together to get the state of Vermont successfully designated as an EB-5 Regional Center. In 2004 after the Citizenship and Immigration service known as CIS reaffirmed and instituted new improved guidelines for the national EB 5 Program, Jay Peak with support from our current governor Jim Douglas and our senior senator Patrick Leahy began to develop its Phase 1 project, and successfully completed the subscription of 35 investors in Phase One’s all suite hotel in 2008. With the success of Phase 1 behind us, we are already heavily in to Phase 2, a project that will fully transform JP in to a resort with recreation for every age group, every week of the year and welcoming 150 investors to the United States. Transforming Jay Peak in to a year round resort is the driving force behind why Jay Peak is an approved EB-5 Pilot project. This transformation will create 100’s of direct and indirect jobs at Jay Peak and in the communities around it. At the heart of our successful EB-5 program is the creation of jobs. Our Phase 2 facilities are a series of job creation projects that will offer full time employment to hundreds of Vermonters. This job creation is at the center of the EB-5 partnership between the State of Vermont, Jay Peak ski and summer resort and the EB-5 Investors. Each of the above plays an important role and each benefits from the program and the project. The State of Vermont benefits from job creation in a rural and high unemployment area, Jay peak is located in just such an area. Jay peak gains access to equity capital to construct job creating facilities that have a market need and will have business success for the resort and the investors. Because the investors are investing in a job creating project such as Jay Peak, they are awarded a Green Card for themselves, their spouse and all children 20 years of age and younger. They also become business partners in Phase 2 and benefit from the proceeds of the successful businesses created there. This is a 3 way partnership that is truly a win win win benefit for all parties. Let me tell you about Phase 2, I’m really excited about it and what is going to do for our community, our resort and our group of investors. Phase 2 is a collection of facilities that are mostly indoor, recreational facilities combined with a beautiful 120 suite hotel, all located at the base of beautiful Jay Peak. The hotel itself will offer over 120 beautifully appointed suites of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom size overlooking the valley below and the mountain above, and just a few steps from Jay Peak’s famous aerial tramway lift. Within the hotel will be a full service spa facility, restaurants, retail shops and a conference center serving up to 500 guests. For the families that so often visit Jay Peak a 35,000 sq ft indoor water park will entertain guests of all ages and do so every day of the year and in to the evenings as well. No ski area in our market offers such a facility, and this will make Jay Peak a unique place to vacation. A futuristic, interactive arcade will adjoin the water park and will entertain all age groups with the most modern electronic entertainment. Jay Peak is also located just south of the Canadian border where skating and hockey are national pastimes. This activity is also extremely popular in Vermont as well. As such, one of the phase 2 components is an indoor skating facility that will be operating all year long. This skating complex will only be a short walk from the Phase 2 hotel complex. Rounding out phase 2 facilities is a nearby clubhouse and restaurant that will act as a golf club house in summer, and a cross country and snow shoe center in winter. Special functions such as weddings will also take place in this beautiful club house. So, Phase 2 will consist of 120 beautifully furnished suites, Restaurants, Retail shops, Indoor Water Park, Spa Facility, Arcade, Hockey facility, a Club House and Conference Center, all designed to entertain our guests all year round and employ hundreds of employees as well. If gaining access to a Green Card is something you and your family would like to do, then the Jay Peak EB-5 program maybe what you are looking for.
