>> In this lecture, we're going to talk about creating multiple streams of income for your business. While our main goal is to help you get private coaching clients, we also know that not everyone wants to coach one-on-one or has the time for one-on-one coaching. It's also important to have other offerings that can help boost your bottom line without creating a lot of extra work for you. In addition to private coaching, you can also explore the following types of services, group coaching, online programs, teaching classes, leading corporate workshops, public speaking, writing a book, or even creating a product. On the Health Coaching Business Models handout, you'll see each of these listed out, as well as pros and cons for each and examples of Integrative Nutrition Health Coaches who are successfully offering these services in their businesses. Let's take a moment to break each down. First up, let's talk about private coaching. Private coaching allows you to work one-on-one with clients to create deeper breakthroughs. This is also the most exclusive service you can offer, as your time is valuable. So the more closely a client gets to work with you, the more you can reasonably charge for your services. Next, let's talk about group coaching. Group coaching allows you to work with a number of clients at once, this can be done in person or virtually. The great thing about group coaching is that you can leverage your time and help more people at once. You can also offer group coaching at a lower price point, making it more accessible to more people. Group coaching gives clients a bit less one-on-one attention than private coaching, but it still allows them the time and space to receive coaching from you. Now let's talk about teaching classes and leading corporate workshops. Teaching classes and leading corporate workshops are very similar. For both, you're teaching a group audience, one time or in a series about a particular subject. For instance, you might lead a workshop on sugar blues. You can host classes in any number of spaces. You can host them at libraries or community centers for companies or organizations, and you can even host them at schools and other educational institutions. Next, let's talk about public speaking. Public speaking is a great way to get your voice out there and to reach a larger audience of people. And depending on where you speak, it can also pay you handsomely. But did you know that most people would rather have a root canal than speak in public? It's true. Public speaking requires lots and lots of practice, and it requires overcoming the fear of what other people will think of you, which is something we'll talk a lot about in this course as it can be a huge obstacle to success. Now let's talk about running online programs. An online program is a course you offer virtually, meaning you don't have to meet with clients in person. Depending upon how you set it up, this can be something that your clients do with or without personalized support and coaching from you. The great thing about online programs is that they can be a low cost way to give people a feel for what you do so that they'll later sign up for coaching. They give clients a foundational understanding of what it is that you do and how you work. And they'll also allow you to make money without putting a lot of time and energy into coaching. So it's a really great way to leverage your time. Finally, let's talk about writing a book and creating a product. These are both very time-consuming, but they're certainly an option. We found that students who write books and create products are usually driven by something more than just a passive income, as they both require a lot of time and effort and they take a while to reap the financial rewards. So there you have it, a number of potential options for how you could structure your health coaching business. And remember, you don't have to stick to just one. You can create a combination. Maybe you write a book, speak and coach groups, maybe you teach corporate workshops, and do private coaching, maybe you want to only run online programs and lead the occasional group coaching program. Whatever feels best to you, that's what you should go for. To recap, we discussed a number of different options for building your health coaching practice, from private and group coaching to teaching classes and leading corporate workshops, to public speaking and running online programs, to writing a book and creating a product. Each has its own set of pros and cons. And it's up to you as the Health Coach to figure out what you think will work best for you and your business. This week, take some time to think about what you want to do in your business and think about what you could implement now and what you might want to include a couple months or a year from now. You don't have to do it all at once, start slow and take your time.
