Hi, Leon here! We are going to be talking about grooming tools & how important it is.
One thing about big & small dogs with long hair is that the hair is so fine that it tangles & creates a mat.
It will pull on their skin and create all kinds of problems like bleeding, scabbing & infection.
If it goes too long, our groomers have to do a complete shave down.
Here's some steps that you take. FIRST comb hair out, THEN brush. Some people do it backwards.
We sell a variety of combs & brushes - different sizes & materials for the different types of dogs.
Here's some different brushes. A rubber based, gentle brush. Fine wire brushes with a push button to remove hair.
Flea season is still here. This comb has small, small teeth on it to grab fleas.
This is a rubber brush for short hair dogs. Use a circular motion & you won't believe the hair that comes off your dog.
This is called a de-shedder. It's a wire brush. You use up & down stroke and really removes the hair while generating oils for a healthy coat.
For more information come see us at Healthi Paws. Talk to our grooming staff & we'll get you in the right direction to care for your dog!
You should comb/brush your pet 2 - 3 times a week to help the oils, especially in the summer. See you at Healthi Paws!
