Bernice King: We means EVERYBODY!

We got excited about a man becoming President of the United States,
and that was not what it was supposed to be.
He even said it in his own platform.
He said, "Yes, we can,"
the same thing Daddy said before he was assassinated 40 years prior to that.
That was 2008 when he was saying, "Yes, we can."
It was 1968, 40 years prior,
kind of like the children of Israel,
when Daddy said, "I've been to the mountain top.
"I've looked over and seen the promised land.
"I may not get there with you,
"but I want you to know that we as a people
will get to the promised land."
There's always a we proposition
in any change, transformation,
and we means everybody.
Not just Washington.
Not just corporate America, but yes, corporate America too.
Leaders in every arena, and each one of us as citizens,
there's small things we can do to educate people
to be aware, to bring things to people's attention.
Now, why people don't do it,
I don't know.
