Sporting Inclusion with Oliver Dsouza.
Hi. My name is Oliver DeSuza, born and brought up in Bombay.
Prior to my accident I was a football player...I don't even remember when I started playing...
Football has always been a part of my life.
Post my accident nothing worked...girls, friends, nothing could fill the gap that football had in my life.
Sports, Para Sports, came in to my life when I met Rajaram Sir
who is the President of the Maharashtra Para Sports Association.
Taught us how to swim. Since then I have gone on to play Badminton; I have just now learnt basketball.
What sports mean to me?
There's nothing better in life than sports can teach you the hard
lessons in life. Team sports that teach you more cooperation
and collaboration to individual sports that teach you about
commitment and discipline. I think life without sports would be
very, very, very sad.
Nothing feels better than being involved in sports.
Absolutely nothing. [Interviewer] what skills have your learnt?
I learnt how to be fitter, it relieves all the stress in my life...
it, eh, I met my best friends through sports.
I've met great people by participating in sports. Sports always
brings out the best in me....not a very nice guy out side the court but
when I am in the court I am the best. Best version of Oliver is
always inside the court. So...if you know that version of Oliver
then your are lucky. The other guy is just an ass-hole.
[Interviewer] Thank you very much.
