♪♫♪♫.........[Music playing] Hi, I'm John Brow and today I'm demo-ing the AudioBox 1818VSL. This is an 8-channel microphone preamp. It has 8 mic ins, 2 instrument ins, so for an unbalanced signal, like a guitar, It has 6 line inputs, ok. It's got 8 direct outputs on the back. and, monitor outs. We've also got S/PDIF in and out, ADAT in and out, 8 channels or 4 channels at 96K, and BNC Word Clock. It's a USB 2.0 device, ok.

The really cool thing about this device, is that we bundled our dynamics processing from our mixer line into a software that goes with this device ok. So what that means is, you get all of the dynamics processing: compression, equalization, and timing effects. like reverb and delay all in one with this, uh software. So what's really neat about this is prior to the VSL software, the Virtual StudioLive Software, if you wanted timing-base effects, you'd have to go through your DAW to do that. And, the problem that that creates is latency.

So, when you're running all those effects into your DAW and then back out through your monitor mix, what happens is that, there's a time delay basically that happens. And so this solves that problem by running in the kernel of your computer. So, all this stuff happens very very fast. So you can create monitor mixes using reverb and delay, and, they're seamless. There's no latency at all, down to 3 milliseconds.

Some other really cool features is that we have uh drag and drop effects presets. So, say you want to get a kick drum dialed in, or a bass channel dialed in, but you just want to do something really quick you can just drag this right over and, boom there it is. Your compression is ready to go, and you can kind of edit and tweak it from there. In addition to that, we've got a lot of FX presets. So you can come in here and drag those into your FX channels. And there's your time-based effects.

You also have 3 stereo-linked individual monitor mixes, for your outputs. So you can create up to 3 different outputs using these monitor mixes. So say I wanted to run channels 1, 2 and 3 and 4, so, channels 1-4 you can do that, and it's as easy as sliding up the level and then working your pan from there. Your effects routing happens here. And again, it's as easy as routing in your effects bus, A and B. That's the AudioBox 1818. ♪♫♪♫............[Muisc playing]

Presonus VSL-1818 means you can add timing effects with no latency issues. Included VSL software makes it possible to do dynamics processing and timing effects like reverb and delay all bundled together. This can be achieved with no latency. 3 stereo-linked individual monitor mixes for your outputs. Software makes it easy to drag and drop settings right from your computer.
