Berri Txarrak, one of the most popular actual Basque bands, plays this song about Maravillas, a young girl from the town of Larraga, in Navarre. She was raped and murdered by the fascists in August of 1936. She was 14 years-old.
Her father, Vicente Lamberto, was a militant of the General Union of Workers during the Second Republic. At the beginning of the Spanish Civil War, the Spanish police went to his house to arrest him. Maravillas was sleeping with her sister Pilar, who was 10 years-old. When they arrested her father, she asked the policemen to go with him; they agreed. In the town hall, the father was closed in jail, and in an upper room, she was raped several times.
Later, they both were executed.
