Designating a Front Page
for Your Site with Amber Matz
In this tutorial we'll designate
a front page for our website.
By the end of this tutorial
you'll understand how to
configure which content item
is displayed as the front page
of your website.
To follow along,
the content item
that you want to designate
as the front page of your site
must exist.
We created the homepage
content item
in the tutorial creating
a content item.
See the written version of
this tutorial for a link.
In the Manage administrative menu,
navigate to Configuration, System,
Basic site settings,
which is the path
admin/config/system/site-information
Under front page,
replace /node
with the name of the page alias
that you would like to make
the homepage.
To use the homepage that was
previously created,
provide its path /home
Click Save configuration.
Navigate to the homepage to verify
that it displays content
as configured by you.
I'll click on Back to site,
then Home to verify that
I'm on the homepage.
And we can see that the homepage
that we previously created
is now configured as the
homepage for our site.
In this tutorial, we designated
the Home page content item
to be the front page for our site.
