A diligent
garbage removal program
for your building
is essential to make sure
pests don't become a problem.
We recommend
that you pay attention
to three specific issues.
First of all, when you have
wet garbage,
like a banana peel,
an apple core,
or even some of the debris
that may be left
in your lunch plate,
that you make sure
that that just doesn't
sit in a garbage can
or recycling bin.
The reason for that is volatiles
will be released
and pests will be attracted.
Put those type of items
in a plastic bag
and tie it off,
and take it directly
to the dumpster.
Second of all,
paper products
like cardboard paper
or even a wrapper,
they can go in a garbage can
or recycling bin.
But it's really important
that they don't remain
long periods of time.
Make sure daily
that they're taken out
to the dumpster.
The reason for this
is cockroaches and silverfish
can harbor in that area
and make that a home.
Last of all,
sometimes liners may split
and therefore material
leak out into the dumpster
or the canister itself.
Inspect that regularly,
and if you find any debris
or liquid,
wash it and then make sure
it's just dried properly
on a regular basis.
That'll make sure
that pests don't find that
as an attractive place to be.
