[♪upbeat music♪] [howdini - get yourself a guru] Hi. I'm Julie with the Kraft Kitchens. [Julie Zwillich for the Kraft Kitchens] We're all looking for ways to save, so I'm going to show you some simple money-saving tips that you can use on your very next trip to the market. [Grocery Tips for Saving Money] A great saving opportunity is in the produce section. Stick with seasonal produce. When fruits and vegetables are at their peak, they're less expensive. For example, berries are in season during the summer, so buy them during the summer months. [♪♪] Citrus is at its peak during the winter months, so January is a great time to stock up on oranges and grapefruits. Try using what's ripe and ready to make a great dessert using your favorite Jell-O. [♪♪] During work, are you running out to the salad bar? Salad bars are so expensive. Buying pre-washed bags of lettuce is less expensive than the salad bar, but constantly buying prepared lettuce really tugs on the wallet. Buying a head of lettuce, prepping it at home, and bringing it to work will save you money. And if you have a communal refrigerator at work, a bottle of dressing such as Kraft Ranch Dressing is a great option. [♪♪] If you don't buy salads at work, what about those deli sandwiches? Depending on where you live, you could spend $25 to $50 a week on sandwiches alone. So try making your own using Oscar Mayer Deli Fresh and Kraft Miracle Whip Dressing. Making your own sandwich also gives you the opportunity to choose from a wider variety of breads. Try choosing less expensive cuts of meat like chuck roast. Just grab your slow cooker to ensure meat tenderness. For great taste, add Kraft Original Barbecue Sauce, then use the pulled barbecue beef for sandwiches topped with Kraft Singles. [♪♪] Forget the work vending machine. Get snack time savings. It's easy. Just buy full size packages of Oreo or Ritz and bring to work in a small container. Or just bring the whole package to work and leave it at the office. Make a weekly shopping list and stick to it. Sticking to your list prevents you from spending a few extra dollars, and shopping once a week saves time and gas. Go green. Use your own bags. Many grocery stores will deduct a few cents off the bill if you bring your own. [♪♪] Make small changes to save your change. Incorporating small changes on a daily basis can lead to larger savings later on. [♪♪] [] [chimes jingling]
