My name is Jose Luis Bimbela and I 'll be your teacher in this module of communication skills and conflict resolution. This module will have three parts In the first part we will work what we call the words and music of communication In the second part we will work what we call the six verbs of communication And finally in the third unit we will work a specific instrument to try to prevent and manage conflicts We'll name unit 1 as "the words and music of communication" And for that I'd like to remember a phrase One day I found myself reading a book Phrase the boy told the girl: phrase that i'd encourage the reader encourage the person viewing this video to try to read it, trying in the first place to communicate that you DO love the other person notice that the words are "yes, love", and then yes again, i, do, love, you The challenge in this case is as follows: Is it possible to communicate one thing and its opposite? I mean, is it possible, saying the same thing, with the same letters, in the same words, communicate that you do love her or communicate that you don't love her? That is the challenge, the first challenge we propose the student in this module Experience tells us that modifying those aspects we usually call nonverbal communication it is clearly possible. That is: playing with the tone, the look, rhythm, the touching or not touching. Because communication experts remind us that more than 90% to establish communication with the other person over 90% is nonverbal. Is that we have called in this course "music." Because music has to do with looks, with facial expression, movements, gestures, smile posture, even physical space. Sometimes we remember that which occurs in some hospitals, where a doctor or a nurse with the best of intentions asks a question with a great letter, of those we usually recommend in communication courses an open question for example: "Pepa, how are you feeling" that question is excellent with a great words if the healthcare professional does it from the doorway of the room where Pepa is in bed, probably if he does it from there without entering the room, it's communicating different things and certainly worst communication that if he makes it right into the room and beside the bed where Pepa is. Therefore, it is also music. In this sense also when we talk about the rhythm of music, frequency, clarity, speed, all that is what accompany the words. Therefore, with this example of yes love, yes I love you, what we would like is that the student trains at home, quietly, in private, how to play with the music so this phrase communicate on the one hand much love and we will also try to do this by modifying the music, to communicate too little love, disdain, or even no love at all. It turns out that the importance of the music is double. We have said that because of the quantity, over 90% is music, and also the quality, in example, what we see is that when music and words don't tell us the same, besides the fact that the message squeaks, sounds bad, what he hits the other person is the music, how he said it. So let's take good care of throughout this module both lyrics and the music And especially the music because there are aspects that we have perhaps forgotten, that are less trained.
