Daniel Lamarre - 7 tips to improve your leadership

Let me propose my seven tips about leadership. Stay true to your own personality, your own value. Don't try to be someone else. Don't try to be charismatic if you're not. Don't try to project an image of someone you are not. That's the same thing for your organization. Don't try to position your company for something you are not. Stick to your values. Be proud of your values. Just push it as much as you can. Develop and communicate a clear vision. You know, sometimes people are saying, "Oh, my employees don't understand." Employees understand. If your employees don't understand, it's because you are not communicating enough. That's a mistake I do. That's a mistake we do all the time because we are too preoccupied by something more important. There is nothing. Nothing more important than communicating your vision, your mission, to your employees. Understand your unique capabilities. Yes, you have to have a winning culture, but you have to understand your unique capabilities. What makes you different from anybody else? Build on it. Just don't try to go somewhere else, too far from your capabilities. Build on your capabilities. Take risks. Exceed expectation. Too often, we're happy with what we do. Then, I think you should step back for a moment. Look to your product, look to your new service that you're offering. Ask yourself, "Am I going to have a reaction from people that will say 'Wow,' and that are going to be blown away by what I am going to present?" If the answer is no, maybe you still have a little bit of work to do and you should do it. A leader stands out and remains calm in crisis.
