Windows Azure HDInsight Service makes Apache Hadoop available
as a service in the cloud.
I can quickly create an HDInsight Cluster in Windows Azure
for processing big data.
By using the Windows Azure HDInsight Service,
I pay only for the storage and compute capacity that I use.
When I'm done I can simply delete the cluster without paying
any further charges.
Provisioning an HDInsight Cluster involves 4 quick tasks—
creating a Windows Azure account subscription,
enabling the HDInsight Service on my Windows Azure account,
creating and configuring the location in the cloud
where I can store my data,
and creating and provisioning my cluster.
This sounds like a lot, but it's very straightforward—
definitely quicker than doing all of this on Premise.
Each of these tasks is available as a video and written topic.
Links to each of these are provided on the launch page for this video.
