Hey I’m Pippa. I’m here today to talk to you about
praise and the gift of praise.
I want to start by asking you,
take a second to think about someone that's really impacted your life.
Can you think of some great things that you would say about them,
some ways that you would praise them.
For me there are many people in my life who have impacted me in great ways,
but the person categorically who has impacted me the most
is Jesus Christ.
When I accepted Jesus into my heart when I was 20
my life completely changed.
I have found purpose and peace and joy and courage.
So I just invite you now to think about someone in your life
who has made impact on you,
who has made a great impact on you.
It maybe a friend, a family member,
somebody at work, somebody at school.
For me there are many people in my life who have made a great impact on my life,
but the person who has categorically made the most impact on me is Jesus Christ
I’ve been brought up a Catholic and I've always known the love of God
but I made a personal decision to following when I was 20
and when I did this my life completely changed.
I have found purpose and peace and joy like nothing else has ever given me
and for that I want to give God my praise.
I want to give him my thanks.
I want to give him everything that is in my heart
In the last book of the Bible, in the Book of Revelation
we see a snapshot of what heaven is like
Did you know that? We know a bit of what heaven looks like
and in Revelation we hear about these twenty four elders
who are gathered around the throne of God
and they are casting their crowns down before Jesus.
They are astounded at his beauty
and they are taking the crowns that God has given them
and they are laying them at his feet,
because they see that he is worthy of praise.
They are not slaves,
they are not people who have to, who must worship God.
But Jesus in comparison to everything else is more glorious
and is worthy of them constantly laying their crowns down.
This is what I think praise is.
A natural reaction to responding to how God has blessed you.
My life would not be the same without Jesus
and so I have to give Him my praise, I want to give Him my praise.
It's a natural reaction to the goodness of Him in my life.
So I invite you today, what are you thankful for?
What are the things that God has done in your life? Call them to mind
and give Him the praise that he is worthy of.
He loves you
and let's love him back with our praise today.
