Line 6 XD-V30 Digital Wireless Microphone System - Review

♪♫♪♫............................[Music Playing] Line 6's V30 Wireless System is a great system for those of you that travel a lot. You want a lightweight, no-hassle system, no antennas, no external antennas and you don't have to worry about frequency coordination wherever you go. Well why is that? Because we all know that there are FCC regulations that have come into play. There are more and more devices the new Internet wireless devices are taking up frequency spectrum. Well Line 6 knew this was coming and said "You know what? Let's go ahead and go on a frequency band that we don't have to worry about those." And that is the 2.4 GHz band. And what they've done is they implement a digital frequency hopping system. That means that this thing has 4 receivers. It just jumps around to different frequencies all the time. If that frequency is busy it'll just find another one in a millisecond. So you can take this system...all that technology simply means... you can take this system, take it anywhere and it will work. You don't have to worry about what other TV channels are in the area, or whatever the police frequencies are going on or safety frequencies. So let's take a look at the V30. Very simple belt pack. There are 6 channels to choose from. Just pick one of them and away you go. It'll start out on that channel. And then you go ahead and have an on/off switch. It's just that simple. Microphone, 1/4 inch plug, you can even use a standard handheld type of a microphone...and, the lapel microphone. Here's the receiver, again, very simple. Select a frequency. As you can see, no external antennas to hang up. You've got XLR and 1/4 inch. XLR's balanced, the 1/4 inch is not. Very compact package. And, of course, the handheld.... Same kind of a thing where you've got the 6 channels. Simply select one turn the power on, and away you go. It just couldn't be simpler. Couldn't be more reliable.
