[female #1] This is Elementary Statistics.
[female #2] England. >>[female #3] Nursing's over there.
[female #4] We wanted to give something back. It's all about giving something back.
And at 64 years old, you better give back while you still can.
[male #1] What the content is—
[male #2] Books for Africa—we are the world's largest shipper of donated books to the African continent.
We ship books to every country but 2 in Africa.
As of last month, we've shipped 28 million books.
[female #3] I had no idea something this big, this efficient, this ambitious existed
until I heard about it from AARP, and now I want to do something.
[male #2] I'm the only full-time employee with five part-time employees,
and me and myself can't pack and ship 3 million books a year, which we're doing.
[female #4] I felt the need for more people to become volunteers to help with this project
because I believe that if everybody did a little something,
there would not be a need.
[male #2] Without volunteers, nothing's getting to Africa.
[female #3] AARP is so much more than a lot of people know.
The fact that they commit to organize,
to get all these people together,
and when you see that, it feels very alive,
very meaningful, very person-to-person, very individual.
And it no longer seems like a huge impersonal institution,
but rather it's people, and it's people helping people.
The more I know about AARP, the more I respect it,
the more grateful I am to be a part of it.
