When we first opened we had a
a plus-sized girl in doing some shopping
and put a dress on and zipped it up. She was looking in a mirror and she burst into tears.
And I thought, “Oh it’s her moment. She loves her dress!”
And so I said, “is this the one?”
And she said, “Oh God no, it’s ugly. I just haven’t heard a zipper do up”.
So, it’s important for us that we have those plus sizes, as well as the sizes smaller than
the traditional sample sizes, because everyone want to hear that zipper go up.
Second Story Wedding shop was born when I was shopping for my own wedding dress.
When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, with a budget I was looking for, I then open the store.
The store offers dresses at discounted prizes; whether they are coming in from other shops,
discontinued dresses, stores that have closed, or whether they’re coming in from the community
that they bought more than one and decided on another one.
Or have actually worn the dress and now wanting it to have new adventure or a second story.
Being a small business in Peterborough, I think it’s really important that we support each other.
As planning of out Christmas planning we try to shop local.
So, it just made sense for us to be part of the LoveLocal campaign.
We have formal ware for prom, for grad, for mothers of the bride, mothers of the groom
bridesmaids and everyone in between.
We have ladies shop for dresses that are just going to weddings.
