Alain Uyttenhoven, Head of Lexus Europe Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to Lexus! We have some exciting product news for you today but let me start by a quick update on our current sales momentum. 2015 has been a tremendous year so far for Lexus. In Europe, our growth year to date is 4 times bigger than the premium car market. And that growth is coming from all across Europe - East and West. In the West, the demand and desirability for the Lexus brand has never been higher and if we only focus on our 5 largest markets in Western Europe, our year on year sales increase is close to 50%. This growth rate is 5 times higher than the market. We are equally pleased with our performance in the East. In Russia, for example, Lexus sales managed to increase by 15% this year... in a premium car market which is decreasing by more than 20%. This puts us well on track to exceed our European objective of 60,000 units for this year. Clearly, a new record for Lexus in the region. Globally, we are also on our way to reach our new best ever sales performance with approximately 10% in 2015. This will consolidate our position as the first alternative to the G3. Not bad for a brand that’s just 26 years young! The NX managed to capture the hearts of Luxury consumers across all of Europe, we've been attracting a younger, trendier audience to the brand and as a result, well over half the sales of NX are to first time Lexus customers and we expect that to continue to grow. In less than a year, we have already delivered more than 100,000 NX globally. Europe represents a quarter of that volume. NX has also helped us to enhance and sharpen the image of the Lexus brand. Our collaboration with played a pivotal role. The latest chapter of that collaboration was an unprecedented sound and light installation in which we brought a popular musical video game to life. It took an airport runway to do it but it was a spectacle unlike any other. One that could literally be seen from outer space. Like 25 million other people, I guess most of you have followed our Hoverboard story… A levitating skateboard. Like me, many people dreamed about it and Lexus made it possible! This is the new spirit of Lexus today… We like to explore, to anticipate and challenge the conventional. And I can promise you that we are only getting started. All of these activities would be less impactful if we did not have amazing products… and the next months will be extremely busy on that front. We will launch no less than 5 new models in the next 4 months! Let me start with the restyled GS with even more striking looks, more comfort and our new safety package. We also welcome a new member to our F family. The GS F, our new performance sedan - the lightest car in its category - and with the incomparable sound that only a naturally aspirated V8 can deliver And speaking of good looks, our next launch is the RC, our brand new coupé, available in Western Europe with two powertrains, hybrid and 2L turbo. In the East, we will also introduce a refreshed ES. Additionally we will expand our offer on our core models. CT and IS are now available in Sport Edition. This brings a more dynamic looking execution to the more accessible part of our line-up. And, as you can imagine, I kept the best for last …the all-new RX of course... coming to Europe by the end of this year. Since its first launch 15 years ago and after 2.2 million sales worldwide the RX has helped to shape the Lexus brand more than any other of our models. But at the same time it has also reshaped the luxury vehicle segment as well, and it has done it more than once. First by bringing the SUV body type to the luxury consumer at a time when the market was dominated by sedans and wagons - and then by bringing hybrid as the clear alternative to the conventional power trains in the premium car market. So it was only fitting that the new RX reshapes the segment again. And we will do this by bringing a distinct point of view on what a luxury SUV should be. I can summarize that for you in 4 points. First, a luxury SUV needs to look amazing. It needs to have head turning looks, combining strength with refinement. It needs to have sophistication but with an edge. With RX our designers took our design language to a new level and the reactions so far have been outstanding. Secondly, a luxury SUV needs to feel... luxurious. With the new RX, we looked at every detail and included dozens of small touches to cater for the comfort and well-being of all occupants. One example: the climate concierge, which simultaneously adjusts the temperature of the air … and of the seats. Thirdly, a luxury SUV needs to be technologically advanced. We have equipped the new RX with a wide range of innovative technologies to make life easier and safer. Our new comprehensive active safety package, Lexus Safety System + makes advanced protection accessible to all our customers. We have also further refined the hybrid powertrain in RX 450h… and I’m very proud to confirm CO2 emissions starting as low as 120g, corresponding to fuel consumption of just 5.2l/100km. And of course, you can achieve this without changing your driving habits - no plugs required. Our full hybrid RX will continue to be priced very competitively against traditional petrol and diesel competitors yet it will return better fuel economy and lower cost of ownership. And finally a luxury SUV should be a pleasure to drive. With the new RX our engineers have delivered a confident and refined driving experience by improving the body rigidity while completely redesigning the suspension and steering systems to reach superior levels of agility and comfort. When we add these amazing new products to our existing range, it is easy to see why we are confident our momentum will allow us to reach 70,000 units in Europe next year - well on our way to our 100,000 target by 2020. At Lexus however, no matter how good our products are, no matter how good our marketing activities might be, we never lose focus on the true heart of our brand - our customers.
