Ahead of 65th Republic day celebrations,
24 children between the age of 8 and 17
have been selected for the prestigious
National Bravery Awards.
This year,
1st February 2014, is a day edged
in 16 year old Resham's memory
on her way to tuitions, Resham was kidnapped
by her 38 year old uncle.
He poured acid over her head when she turned
on his proposal.
He took out a bottle
and it had a yellowish liquid
he poured it entirely on me, from my head
Then, when I felt burning sensations,
I understood that its an acid.
I want to make such guys punish in such a way
that he, means no other even think
that such an act is justified.
A resident of Lucknow,
Resham will be conferred the Bharat Award,
the highest of the National bravery honors
on Republic Day.
Shamu Nath Bharti received the honor for his son,
Gaurav's exemplary courage.
Gaurav died trying to save his friend,
Vikas from drowning.
When my son, saw his friend drowning
to rescue his friend, he jumped into the river.
He was very courageous,
was very helpful to others,
couldn't see anyone crying,
anybody says or urges whether for playing
or any other work,
my son was very hard working
I do not have any other son like him now.
With big courage on little shoulders
the brave hearts are all set to march in
the Republic Day parade.
