Hello. It’s important to keep your hearing aid clean to ensure it is working at its best
and this short video will show you how to clean your moulded hearing aid.
Before you begin, wash your hands thoroughly and look carefully at this picture of a moulded hearing aid
so that you can identify the individual parts
There are two ways of cleaning your hearing aid.
The first way is it to take the mould apart from the hearing aid, and wash it in warm, soapy water.
To do this, pinch the tube, and hold the hook. Pull apart firmly and it will disconnect
at the point between the hook and the tube. Do not remove the tube from the mould.
Place the mould in warm soapy water, and using something like an old toothbrush, gently scrub it clean.
After you have removed the mould from the water, give it a shake and leave it to dry overnight.
You do not want any moisture left in the tube.
Put the hearing aid and the mould back together by firmly pushing the tube and hook together.
Alternatively, if you do not feel confident in pulling the two apart,
you can wipe the mould with a wet wipe, or damp cloth like this.
