The world population is ageing
This is because birth rates are low and people are living longer
In the next century the number of people aged over 60 will more than double
climbing from 810 million in 2012 to 2 billion by 2050.
By the first time in history there will be more over 60s than under 60s.
In 1950 there were 12 working age people for every individual over 65 worldwide
By 2011 there were just 7 and by 2050 there will likely be just 3.
This trend will have an increasing impact to global economic growth,
savings and investment, consumption, work forces
pensions and taxes.
Health care systems and social services will also feel the burden
as family life, living conditions, housing and migration trends change
Populations are expected to age at a faster pace in Asia, Europe and Latin America
Poor countries without ------ also experiences a significant change
as the world struggles to support the elderly without imposing a stuffling burden on the young
