Reinhard Schäler introduces The Rosetta Foundation
The Rosetta Foundation is one of the most exciting projects
that I have been involved in my professional career,
and I have been involved in localisation for approximately 20-25 years.
It's so exciting because it aims to bring information
digital content, knowledge and education
to the ¾ of the world population who currently do not have access to it,
because they do not represent a market
to the large digital content providers
The Rosetta Foundation was launched this year in the summer at AGIS
The Action for Global Information Sharing
at the University of Limerick
by Professor Don Barry, the President of the University of Limerick.
It is a non for profit organisation
that is going to be run along the lines of social entrepeneurship
to bring initiatives, people and communities together
to collectively translate, adapt and localise digital content
for people who do not currently have access to it.
