The first step is to wash your hands so you don't get skin oil on your tie.
Button your top button and put your collar up before you begin.
Hang the tie around your neck with the fat end on the right and the skinny end on the left.
With the dress side facing out, place the fat end over the skinny end in an X shape.
Hold the X in place with your right hand and pull the fat end through the top of the X with your left hand.
The fat end goes behind the skinny end so that the label is facing out. Then the fat end goes over the knot to the left then up through the neck hole.
Pick up the fat end of the tie by the tip, pull it out with your other hand to guide it away from your body
while guiding the tip gently through the center of the knot from top to bottom. The dress side should be facing out by now.
Gently pull down on the fat end and tighten the knot while pinching your knot between forefinger and thumb.
Gently tighten the neck strap by pulling on the skinny end of the tie.
Now you should have a perfect Half-Windsor knot.
