Make sure before you do this drill you warm up your players overheads, you are going to want to have those ready to go.
The object of this drill is to work your player at net and I mean work him. Fire all kind of balls at him and keep them coming. You know
make sure that any time you want to take time out to get some balls out of the basket you throw up a lobe. You want the balls to just keep
coming because you are trying to get this player off his kilter a little bit. Give him all different looks and keep him guessing. Your job is to
throw this guy off balance your players job is to under react and slow everything down in their mind. You will notice now he is moving very
slowly. You see he is very efficient with his time he is going to straight to the 45 holding his coil and moving slowly, yes we are in slow motion
but that is for you to see how little he is really doing. He is not being pulled off the shot he is staying slow and stretching out and feeling the
out into his 45 degree angle. When you watch you can see even in fast motion you can see he actually moves very very slowly. See that
a tough dig another one. The object of your player is to not flinch and to under react. So they don't pass by the 45 too quickly and then
get caught in the back of the stroke, or they don't face the net and lunge out into the ball. They see the ball, they size it up and move
incrementally into the hit.
