In October 2009, Rob Jensen , a Teachers Without Borders member and a biology science teacher at Hellgate High School in Missoula, MT, developed and implemented a classroom science activity to discuss food safety. His students investigated the right temperature for cooking hamburgers. Patties were cooked to a selected internal temperature, and then swabbed to transfer bacteria to agar plates.
