Hot And Not On Twitter

0 (0 Likes / 0 Dislikes)
-I've been using a lot and I think you guys should know what's hot and not on Twitter. Retweets are really hot right now. It's just a quick way to compliment somebody and let them know that you like their tweet and share it with all of your followers. Hot: hash tags, the pound symbol, or the number sign with a tag that's popular at the moment is a cool way to jump in on a conversation that's happening and trending right now or start your own conversation about whatever you think is hot. Popular hash tag right now is Haiti because of the Haiti earthquakes. You can jump in on that conversation and help people to text. I've been texting Haiti and doing a lot of hash tags to promote that as well. So, thanks everybody for your donations. Hot: how open Twitter is. I've had several tweetups and I love them and I just think it's so awesome meeting you guys in real life fact-to-face. It just brings so much of that community to real life and I actually get to meet everybody. Hot: @ replies and direct messages are super-hot because it's just the fastest way to say what's up in 140 characters or less. Hot: Twitter lists are so hot right now. If you create a Twitter list, you can have many people follow few people on a list, and before, it was just many people following one person. So, this is a whole new way to look at Twitter and it's really hot right now. So, if you haven't created a list already, definitely do that and also follow other people's lists if want to get that kind of information. Don't follow just for the nature of following. Actually care. Not hot: those MySpacey kind of Twitter backgrounds. Okay, this isn't MySpace, this is Twitter, so get with the program. The foreground is not the background. Not hot is always pushing out content. This a conversation, so you gotta push and pull. Ask questions, answer questions. Don't only tell me you're going to the gym or you're eating a burrito. Not hot: using all caps? Hello, P. Diddy, I don't know what you're talking about. Do you know if you use all caps, you're screaming at me online? Did you know that? Yeah, well that's what you're doing if you're using all caps, so please don't do that, okay? Thanks. Not hot: tweet-endorsement celebrities like Kim Kardashian and John Mayer. These people are getting paid thousands of dollars per tweet and when I go to his Twitter, I feel like I'm just at an advertisement for Campbell's Soup and I never feel like I'm getting to know John Mayer. Not hot: using only one way to update your Twitter. There's so many apps out there where you can update your Twitter on your mobile device. So, get with the program and update your Twitter from multiple places because that's awesome. Well, that pretty much wraps it up for what's hot and not on Twitter. I'm Sarah Austin and this is pop17.
