Miranda v Arizona
yeah, tell me my rights
On March 13th of 1966
Ernesto Miranda was arrested
taken to the police station and interrogated
He was charged for raping and kidnapping
Miranda admitted to the crime in a confession
However he didn't know about the 5th and 6th amendment
so he didn't know that against his self he couldn't witness
and the police didn't inform him of his business
went to court, got tried, and found guilty
then they filed an appeal because the police did something filthy
they didn't tell him about his right to an attorney
he looks back like man this was a journey
supreme court ruled in a 5-4 vote
sentenced to 20-30 years, I wish it was a joke
By Justice Tom Clark, a dissenting opinion was wrote
and there's something else about him that you should note
He thought that the police didn't do things effectively
and the majority's opinion was strict like very
Now before you get ready to go to jail
the police will remind you of your Miranda rights, oh yea
this case serves as a precedent
and is acknowledged by the law, even the president
please make sure that when you're going to jail
the police will
tell me my rights
when you arrest me
tell me my rights
when you arrest me
you arrested me
