C2L7: Pre-Court Warm Up

In this lesson you see Erik Riley here warming up actually gets his racket and gets on the court to start warming up. He is just doing
the figure 8 motion to start with and really feeling that hip/arm connection. See that staying continuous, keeping his head
still in the middle and doing a nice figure 8. Then he starts to mimic the strokes, he can do it with a racket or without.
Now he has grabbed a racket, you can see goes through the forehand , the backhand. This is just a great way to feel your way into the day.
Before you even hit the first ball. It lets you mimic all the strokes but not only that it lets you dial in your balance, see that
by using an 8 board you really have to keep everything very balanced. The nice thing about the figure 8 motion is you get to feel the coil.
You get to feel the lower body move the upper body. So its the hips that pulling at the arm. You get to feel this coil before you
even strike the first ball. It really takes a while before people usually feel that nice coil when they get on the court and start warming up.
Just a hint here, in your mind hitting tennis balls doing this warm-up remember its always right in front of you that you make the contact.
Right at the 45 degree angle is where contact is made. Either just do this figure 8 warm up or get on an 8 board which would
help a little more and do this warm up every time before you hit the ball. You will notice big changes in your game and much better play.
