>> Hello. Welcome to this module's Case Study.
This week,
we're focusing on helping clients nourish beyond food.
We'll explore the role of primary food
in emotional eating,
and how you can help clients
distinguish between the different forms of nourishment
and connect with which form they're actually seeking,
whether it is something that primary food can provide
or it's a form of nourishment
that secondary food can provide.
We're back to Thomas this week.
Let's start with a recap that relates to this week's module.
Thomas recently married.
This is his second marriage,
and he's not sure if he wants to be a dad.
His mother has Alzheimer's
and lives in an assisted-living facility nearby.
His younger brother lives across the country.
He has been very fitness-focused his entire life.
He doesn't think his current exercise plan is working
because he's not happy with how he looks.
His job is very stressful, and he often leaves early.
He tracks his daily food intake and takes many supplements.
He gets about four to five hours of sleep a night.
He wants to reach his physical goals quickly.
And he's very rigid in many areas of his life,
including work and leisure.
Next, mock exercise.
In your Learning Center,
you'll see an exercise called Circle of Life.
Thomas's Circle of Life exercise is included in the pages
following the blank version that you can try yourself.
Lastly, apply.
Using the material from the recap and the mock exercise,
complete the case study challenge in your Learning Center.
When you're done,
challenge yourself to take a photo of your handout
and send it out to the Facebook group
so that we can support each other.
See you back here soon.
