This is an unbelievable drill. Whatever level your students are at this is a great way to get them to focus on the line of the ball.
How to orient and move slowly and judge this line of the ball as it crosses their 45 degree path. What you do is start at the baseline
a few feet behind the base line. Then with each hit you take a step closer in. You do it very slowly, you are not rushing but on the other
you want to take the ball from every part of the court. This is such a great drill to learn to keep your head forward and not to over react.
You want to hit right through the other person you don't want to hit past them. This is a drill where two players are really trying to make
them look good. You go right down the center, its just great if you are a tournament player or want to be a tournament player. This gets you
hitting the ball from every part of the court. Not to mention the fact it gets you to really understand the line of the ball and how not to over
react. Look how Warren comes in there, see that he is ready for everything. His head stays forward, watch this drill head stays relatively
forward the whole time. He takes pick ups, plenty of pick ups, lot of low volleys. This is a drill we do a lot, my top players actually all of
my players do this. This is one way to make yourself get to the top. Try this drill out with your students. Make sure they don't over hit at
first. You want to make a controlled drill, don't pick up the pace until they get the hang of this.
