Moon Phases.
It takes the Moon twenty-eight days to make a complete orbit of the Earth.
As it orbits, we see the Moon lit from different angles.
This is why we see phases of the Moon.
These are five phases for increasing Moon appearance.
First. New Moon.
The side of the Moon facing the Earth is not iluminate and we cannot see it.
Second. Waxing Crescent.
Part of the Moon is beggining to show.
Third. First Quarter.
Half of the Moon is visible.
Fourth. Waning Gibbous.
Most of the Moon is visible.
And fifth, Full Moon.
We can observe the entire face of the Moon.
